But blessed are those who trust
in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like
trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
A sense to go Deeper, a stirring to experience more of Him.
When you look at a tree in the spring you see it’s beauty, leaves turning
green, signs of life or the colors of the fall as the seasons change and God
color’s the trees. We are drawn to what we see above ground.
But it isn’t what we see that sustains, it is the roots that
anchor the tree. It is the root system that holds it strong during the storms
that support it as it grows. Roots are for ‘taking in’ nutrients, water, it is
the avenue of life for that tree.
This year God is calling us ‘Deeper.’ He is stirring us to
break up the fallow ground and to send our roots, what holds us, keeps us and
what gives us life, deeper into Him. When we go ‘Deeper’ we will be drawing life in no matter the
season, or the situations that we face.
Let’s not settle, let’s not be content with enough of Him
but let’s pray for God to give us a holy discontentment that will drive us into
Him in a greater, ‘Deeper’ way.
